It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Nancy Byhre 'Grandma' on October 2nd, 2012.

Born February 24, 1929 in Owlseye, AB, Lorraine moved to B.C. with her family as a young girl and married Donald Byhre of Saskatchewan in 1949. Lorraine and Donald raised their two sons, Dale and Gary, in Delta, B.C.

Lorraine was a devoted mother and grandmother. Family was everything. 'Grandma's' involvement in the lives of her children and grandchildren gave her much joy. Lorraine had a 'zest' for life and dedicated much of her time and energies to volunteering at the RIH Afternoon Auxiliary, working at the Gift Shop. She enjoyed the Auxiliary ladies and the many friendships she made there.

Predeceased by her husband Donald in 1987, and her son Gary in 2007.

Lorraine is survived by her son Dale (Sue), daughter-in-law Heather, grandchildren Kristina, Laura, Chantalle, Colin, Ryan and Wesley.

Thank you so much to Dr. Azad and Dr. H. Ritenburg for all your care and concern and to the Nursing staff of RIH 3 South and 6 South and the Ponderosa Convalescent Care Unit.
