Tashia Faye Boyce

Tashia Faye Boyce

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Tashia Faye Boyce. Her death occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 13, 2012 from brain cancer.
Born in Charlottetown, P.E.I., in 1987 and raised in Lakewood, east Saint John, Tashia was the wife of Joshua Boyce. She is also survived by her parents, Brenda and Terry Phillips, and her brother, Drake Phillips. Tashia was the Big Sister to Alisha Wilson from the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program. She was the cherished granddaughter of Barbara Simpson and the late Robert Simpson of P.E.I. and the late John Taylor and Dorothy Phillips and the late John Wesley Phillips of Saint John.
Tashia graduated from Simonds High School in 2005 and she attended UNBSJ. Tashia enjoyed spending time with her many aunts, uncles and cousins including her newer family members: the Boyce's and the Chiasson's. Tashia was heavily involved in the synchronized swimming organization. Growing up as a member of the Surf City Synchronized Swimming Club, Tashia formed life-long bonds with many in this group. Later she became a coach and then volunteered as a judge for competition all across the Maritimes. She also volunteered for Simonds High School as a soccer coach, Romero House Soup Kitchen and Van, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Operation Red Nose and Run for the Cure Team TaTa's.
Tashia's greatest pleasure was spending time with family and her many friends: camping, card games, dominoes, crafts, swimming, boating and entertaining at her home. Words cannot express the gratitude our family extends to the friends and family who continued to spend time with Tashia in these activities.
Our family would like to acknowledge the care, compassion and love demonstrated by Hope Allaby, Jinell Johnson, and Dr. Margot Burnell from the oncology department of Saint Regional Hospital.
