Frank "Joe" Thome

Passed away peacefully on October 16, 2012 at Extendicare in Moose Jaw, at the age of 89. Predeceased by his beloved wife Hazel, (2000). Loving father of Janice Passmore (Richard), and Bradley. Cherished grandfather of Jason Carpentier, Julie Seip (Jeff) and great-grandfather of Deion and Evan Joseph Seip. He will be fondly remembered by his sisters Betty Renwick, Agnes Schoffer, Rose Sitter, by his brother Peter, and by special niece Penny. Joe was predeceased by 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Joe was born with his twin brother Christian, to Peter and Christina Thome on November 3, 1922 in Prelate, SK. He was raised on the family farm near Fox Valley and attended a country school serving the area. He married Hazel Steen in 1945 when she came to teach in the area, and the young couple moved to Moose Jaw shortly after. He began working at Robin Hood Flour Mills in Moose Jaw for over 6 years until he began working as a laborer and later as a pipe fitter with the City of Moose Jaw, retiring after 31 years of dedicated service. After his retirement, he and Hazel enjoyed many trips together, including a trip to the Hoover Dam, and Disneyland. They loved to entertain, and enjoyed many visits with friends playing cards, or going to dances. At home, Joe loved to watch Westerns, loved cars and his frequent visits to the car lots will be missed, especially by his friends at Western Dodge and Moose Jaw Ford. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Parkview Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
