She is predeceased by her parents, Catherine and Michael Kane; two sons, Patrick and John, great-grandson Stephan and three sisters, Helen Hill, Nora Dunleavy and Beatrice Slack. She is survived by her devoted husband of 72 years William (Bill). She will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Dan (Carol) - St Albert; Tim (Cathy) - Saskatoon; and Lou (Connie) - Calgary; seven daughters; Cecilia (Albert) Hanevelt and Rita (Don) Cushing - Moose Jaw; Maureen (Peter) Smeaton - Thornhill; Joan (Tom) Goddard - Allen Park, Mich.; Rose Graham (Rob Drummond) - Calgary; Eileen (Lyle) Kendel - Regina; and Fran (Bill) Simpson - Prince Albert. Her memory will also be cherished by her 27 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary O'Byrne, brother-in-law Alf Hill and many nieces, nephews and friends. Kay was born on January 22, 1918 and lived all her life in Moose Jaw. She was a long time member of the CWL and the Church of Our Lady. Kay was a selfless person, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was a very strong person and never wanted to be a burden to anyone. Her proudest accomplishment was raising her children of whom she was very proud. Bill and Kay enjoyed music and dancing and made many square dance friends over the years. She and Bill have lived at the Revera (Bentley) for the past three years and it was like a second home for them. The Family would like to thank Dr. Marx for her kindness and compassion as well as the excellent care given by the Emergency Room and Medical staff at the Union Hospital. The kindness and friendship of the Bentley residents and staff is very much appreciated. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church of Our Lady, 566 Vaughan St., on Friday October 19, 2012 11:00 am. Father Rick Krofchek will be the presiding celebrant. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial donations may be made to The Church of our Lady or the Moose Jaw Health Foundation New Facility or to a charity of one's choice. In living memory of Kay, a memorial planting will be made by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Please sign the memorial register book at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
