Muriel Blanche Cooke
Cooke, Muriel Blanche – 92, Highland Village passed away October 16, 2012 in Debert Court, Debert. Born at Spencer’s Point, September 1, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Warren Melville and Agnes Maude (Chisholm) Spencer. She was a resident of Highland Village for 85 years, where she was a very competent farmwife. She spent the last 6 ½ years of her life at West Side Villa, Truro, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow and Debert Court, Debert. She is survived by sons, George Melville (Martena), Debert, Lester Russel (Louise), Portaupique, Douglas Raymond (Shirley), Terry Leigh (Patricia), both of Highland Village; daughter, Jean Elizabeth (Allan) MacDonald, Burlington, Mass.; sister, Norma James, Woodstock, Ont.; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Russel Cooke; brothers, Aubrey, Nobel, Clayton and Lester Spencer. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with funeral service on Sunday, October 21 at 2 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Interment in Mahon Cemetery, Great Village. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to Mahon Cemetery, St. James United Church, Great Village or a charity of choice.
