Donald Oswyn Noble
April 16, 1937 – October 19, 2012

Passed suddenly but peacefully away on October 19, 2012 at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s. Predeceased by his loving and proud parents, Gordon and Margaret. Leaving to mourn his loving wife and life partner, Dora and his children, Paul (Colleen) and Carla (Chris), as well, his grandchildren, Simon, Caylee, Frances and Cate. Also mourning are close members of his extended family, Margie, Eli and Evelyn, Lando and Isabel, as well as special and devoted friends, Gerald ( Wavey), and Melvin ( Shirley). Don was a professional engineer for many years of his working life and he continued to maintain the engineer’s keen analytical and pragmatic approach to life right up to his passing. He deeply loved his wife, Dora, who was the bedrock of his life. He was extremely proud of and protective of his children. He especially enjoyed his home by the water, his beautiful grounds, taking photos, visits from his extended family and special friends and to the very end kept current on world events. He never lacked for an opinion on any issue and would bluntly but playfully express it to any and all around him. Sometimes stoic, sometimes passionate, he was above all else a decent, honorable and generous person. As per the family’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be visitation from Gordon Woolfreys Funeral Home in Lewisporte on Monday, October 22nd from 2-4 and Tuesday, October 23rd from 2-4. The Funeral Service will be held from the Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 24th at 1PM. Inurnment will follow from the Anglican Church Cemetery.
