April 11, 1946 - October 21, 2012. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a loving husband, father and grandfather. Predeceased by his parents: Matthew and Bridget; and brothers: Andy, Ed, Terry and John. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his wife Lorraine, Botwood, N.L., daughter Kimberley (Dave); sons: Matthew (Inta) and Jerome (Teresa) from Ontario. Grandchildren: Kathleen and Emma will remember and miss their “Pop” and make sure that Matthew and Inta’s new addition expected April 2013 is told all about him. Also, leaving to mourn, his sister Kay Harding from St. John’s who was his true angel and took wonderful care of him. His brother Derm (Jean) and sister-in-law Yvonne O’Leary all from Ontario will remember him fondly, as will his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from Ontario, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Cremation has already taken place and the family will receive visitors an hour prior to funeral service on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at Cauls’ Chapel, Lemarchant Road. A second celebration of Matt’s life will be held in Portugal Cove South Community Hall from 1-3 p.m. with burial immediately following in the family plot in Portugal Cove South on Thursday, October 25, 2012.
