The death occurred at Moncton City Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, of Lorne Douglas Barnett of Rosebank, aged 69, beloved husband of Iris (Hardy). Born in O'Leary on Oct. 10, 1943, he was the son of the late Hilton and Alice (Williams) Barnett. Dear father to Melissa (Les) Gillet, Saint John, N.B.; Miranda (David) Driscoll, Kensington; Krista (Allan) Gallant, Elmsdale; and Gregory (Dyan), Cascumpec. Loving grandfather to Ella Gillet, Makenzie and Patrick Corcoran, Nathan and Meighan Driscoll and Damien, Breanna and Cooper Gallant. Lorne is also survived by sisters Donna (Lloyd) Ramsay, Alberton, and Jean (Wendell) Shaw, Summerside, brothers and sisters-in-law Hazel (Fenton) Shaw, Bloomfield; Keith (Lorraine) Hardy, Mill River East; and Joyce (Wendell) Arsenault, Summerside. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Dorothy Hardy, Rosebank. Predeceased by his parents and his father-in-law Eldred Hardy. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O'Leary, with family visiting hours Tuesday 7-9 p.m. Public funeral service to be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Elmsdale United Church Cemetery. In memory of Lorne, memorials to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated. Due to severe family allergies to lilies, please refrain from sending scented flowers.
