Raymond Vincent ‘Vince’ Penney, age 43 of Head of Chezzetcook passed away suddenly on Oct. 21, 2012, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Born in New Waterford, Cape Breton, he was the son of June Penney-Lynk and Norman Lynk (stepfather).
Vince was a graduate of St. Rita's School of Nursing, Sydney. He was employed by East Coast Forensic Hospital for more than 20 years. Vince was a dedicated father who loved taking his boys to hockey and lacrosse. He was a true outdoorsman, living on Chezzetcook (Soules) Lake who was passionate about his boating, fishing, hunting and ATVing.
Vince is survived by his common-law spouse, Dianna Nicholson and two sons, Zackary (17) and Breton (15). He is also survived by sisters, Lynn (Robert) Webb, Nottawa, Ont., Jennifer (Dean) Penney, Wyoming, Ont.; aunts and uncles, Stanley (Eileen) Penney, Jessie Hillier, Ivy Penney, all of Cape Breton and Joyce (Walter) Woodland of Ontario; many nieces, nephews and cousins; in-laws, Murray and Jeanettte Collings and family and Gordie LeDrew his lifelong "Big Brother" of New Waterford.
A public visitation will be held at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. James Haughn officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eastern Shore District High School for a future bursary award.
