LAWRENCE FRANSSON

After 72 years Larry passed peacefully in his sleep Monday morning at Overlander Residential Care in Kamloops.
Larry was predeceased by his parents Karin & Gus Fransson, sisters Florence Gustafson & Lillian Davis, brothers-in-law Ed Raspberry (Florence) & Roy Davis and nephew Brian Raspberry.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Faye (Gibson), sons Jeff (Lisa) & Keith (Brenda), grandchildren Matthew & Nicole Fransson, brothers-in-law Don (Fran) Gibson, Ken (Carol) Gibson, Larry Gustafson and 17 nieces & nephews and many great & great-great nieces & nephews.
Larry was employed by the Ministry of Highways since 1957 working in 25 communities throughout BC, 18 of which he shared with his wife Faye and his boys. Larry retired in 1997 as Highways Manger, Kamloops Region. He was actively involved in the communities he lived in over the years including Kinsmen, Cubs, Scouts, Kamloops Airshow (President 1998-2000) and Rotary. As a social couple, Larry and Faye were avid curlers.
By Larry's request there will be no formal service, however the family will hold an Open House on Saturday, October 27th, 2012 at the North Shore Community Center (at Cottonwood Manor), 730 Cottonwood Ave. from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Salvation Army or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
