Passed in: Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: October 24th, 2012

The family of Betty Langille of Wolfville, announce with sadness that they will greatly miss their dear mother, sister, grammie, and great-grammie, who passed away on October 24, 2012.
Betty was born in Sydney, Cape Breton, on January 31, 1927. After her husband Bennie died she chose to move closer to her family. She lived in Halifax until 2008, when she made the decision to move to Wolfville because of her very strong desire to be as close as possible to family.
Interestingly, Betty began her married life in Wolfville in 1946, so that Bennie could study at Acadia University. Here their lives were blessed with the birth of their first child. Betty was very keen on a good game of bridge and until very recently was a sought after partner in that game. When younger she was an impressive ballroom dancer, loved downhill skiing and curling. But she also just loved to be at home. She was a compassionate mother, who spoke fondly of her family, whom she cherished.
Betty is survived by her much endeared sister, Shirley Burchell; her children, Brenda (Gregory) Hiltz, Shirley (Wally) Bower, Jane (David) Mangle and Andrew Langille (Anne Charlebois); her grandchildren, Timothy, Dorothy, Matthew, Amy, Benjamin, Sarah, Aaron, Hannah and Meredith, and her great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Katie, Markus, Adam and Heidi and her lovely sister-in-law, Hope Langille.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Bennie; her brother, Billy ‘Fiddler’ Harris, and her special friend and sister-in-law, Ruth Smith.
We wish to sincerely thank the staff at the Valley Regional Hospital, the Windsor Elms Village, and the Wedgewood House, Kentville for the excellent care they provided in recent months, to our dear mother, Betty.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, November 4 at 2 p.m. at Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville, with Dr. Maurice Tugwell officiating.
Donations in Betty's honour are invited to be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 568 Main St., Wolfville, Nova Scotia B4P 1E7.
