Stanislaus (Stan) Bourgeois

Stanislaus (Stan) Bourgeois

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stanislaus (Stan) Bourgeois announce his sudden passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville at 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the age of 87 years. Stan had a large family, many of whom were by his side at the end. After a brief prayer from Father O’Quinn Dad passed quietly from this life, fully knowing the love that surrounded him. Born in Kippens on December 1, 1924, Dad lived most of his life in the Kippens area and was well known for his talent and love of music. The last 4 years he resided at the Acadian Village in Stephenville and aside from raising his children, these were some of the happiest of his life. Dad was predeceased by Joyce Bourgeois (wife) and Raymond (son) and is survived by 8 daughters: Theresa (Laverne) Clarke, Anne (Dave) Bennett, Debbie (Leo Paul) Cornect, Elaine Alexander, Claudia Bourgeois-Legge, Judy (John) Brennan, Paulette (Dean) Bailey, Valerie (Billy) Hodge and a son, Paul (Michelle) Bourgeois, 1 daughter-in-law, Judy Bourgeois, 24 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. The family would like to send a special thanks to Christa and all the staff at the Acadian Village. Your years of love and support have meant so much. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, October 27th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Parish, West Street, Stephenville with Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Acadian Village for Recreation Programs would be greatly appreciated.
