It is with great sadness that we, the family announce the passing of a dear and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Georgie Agnes MacLeod passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care.
Born in North Framboise, Sept. 11, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William and Effie (MacDonald) MacLeod.
She was a member of Fourchu United Church, the Fourchu UCW, and an active member of the community. Georgie will always be remembered for her great sense of humour and loved to be in the company of family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Faye Rafuse, Sydney; sister, Archina MacNevin, Sydney; grandchildren, Bradley (Launa) Rafuse, Brent (Pam) Rafuse and Lorilee (Brent) Pezzareallo. She was a special ‘Nana’ to her great-grandchildren, Jensen, Keldan, Paige, Robyn, Joshua and Ryan.
Georgie was predeceased by her husband, Angus Dan, brother, Neil Alex, sisters, Catherine, Mary Ann, Margaret Ann, Annie, Dolly, Hannah, Norma, Margaret Tina.
Visitation will take place Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Sydney Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m. in Fourchu United Church, with Rev. Bob Hussey officiating. Interment in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Framboise.
