YOUNG, Elizabeth Katherine “Betty” – 90, Fergus Hall, Parkland Estates Retirement Residence, Truro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday evening, November 2, 2012, at Parkland Estates. Born March 20, 1922, Regina, Saskatchewan, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Campbell) Norris. Betty was a veteran of the Second World War, was a founding member of the Veterans Widows and Widowers Association in Truro and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro. She was a very loving grandmother and great grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Earl) Fraser, Moncton; Beverly (Jack) Squires, St. John’s, Newfoundland; son, Donald (Shirley) Young, Kingston, Ontario; 10 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Malcolm Lloyd Young; son, Allan Young; brothers, Robert (Cora) Norris, Howard (Eileen) Norris, Max Norris, Allan (Ann) Norris. Special thanks are extended to the staff at Fergus Hall for the loving care and friendship they have given. Private family interment will be held in Crossroads Cemetery, 110 Salmon River Road, Valley, Reverend Mary J. White officiating. If so desired, donations in Betty’s memory to MS Society are welcomed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
