Elizabeth 'Bessie' Babin

Elizabeth ‘Bessie’ Marie Babin, 87, of Thomas Street, Sydney, formerly of Saulnierville, N.S., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 6, 2012.
Bessie spent a lifetime caring for others. She enjoyed quiet and simple pleasures, had a terrific sense of humour and an ever-ready smile. As our father used to say, “She is an angel on this earth.”
She is survived by her children, Leonard, (Deborah McNamara), Ottawa, Jeanette, Sydney, Joyce (Macdonald Gillis), Sydney, James (Maureen MacNeil), Ft. McMurray, Elaine (Dave Fournier), Illinois, and Carol Ann, Sydney. Bessie is also survived by seven beloved grandchildren, Renee and Marc, David and Molly, Graham, Katherine and Hannah and one great-granddaughter, Brooke.
Bessie is also survived by three siblings, Theresa, Anne and Tommy, all of Saulnierville.
Bessie was predeceased by her husband, Oswald and by nine brothers and sisters.
Bessie spent the past two years in the loving care of the staff of Seaview Manor.
A memorial mass will be held on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Daniel Church, 105 Alexandra St., Sydney.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Seaview Manor, Glace Bay.
