Gay lost her brief battle with cancer, with her loving husband Joe by her side.

She will be fondly remembered by her mother and step father, Norma and Paul Watson, brother and sister-in-law Guy and Silvie Cocquyt, brother Glen Cocquyt, nephew Kris Cocquyt and niece Nikki Toussaint, father and step mother Henry and Dianne Cocquyt and Aunt Yvonne Tabalotny. Gay had many other family and friends across the country.

Considerable thanks to the Kamloops Cancer Clinic and especially the staff and volunteers of the Kamloops Hospice Association, who made her final weeks meaningful.
