Talbot, Jessie Minna, 89 – Truro
Jessie passed away in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro on Thursday, November 8, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Pictou County on January 21, 1923 and was a daughter of the late Angus and Dorothy (Blakney) Baillie. She spent her early years in River John/New Glasgow, Pictou Co. She and her husband, Hartley raised their family in the Bible Hill and Truro area. Jessie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Truro. She was predeceased by her husband, Hartley Higgins Talbot; sister, Margaret Cochrane, Mabel Woodhouse and half sister, Rita Hirtle. She is survived by sons, Jim (Trixie), Steven (Cindi); daughter, Sharon (John Chisholm); brother, Ken Baillie; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 10 from 7-9 pm with a celebration of Jessie’s life on Sunday, November 11 at 3 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Rev. Frank Guinta officiating. Interment in Onslow Island Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church or a charity of choice.
