BARKHOUSE, Margaret Sylvia -74, of Pictou and formerly of Durham, Pictou County, passed away November 9, 2012 surrounded by her family, after a short courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pictou, she was a daughter of the late John William & Johanna Mae (Forbes) Fraser. A loving mother and grandmother, Sylvia will be remembered for her kindness and love of family. Surviving are her daughters, Pauline (Dean), Pictou; Kathy (Dale), Pictou; Robin (Duncan), Loch Broom; son, Murray, Durham; grandchildren, Lori-Anne, Shawn, Allison, Paul, Daniel, Dustan, Drew, Darci, Travis, Crystal, Clark; great granddaughters, Nora and Emma. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Laurie; brother, James; sister, Sheila. There will be no visitation or funeral at her request. A public graveside service will be held 11 AM Monday in Gladstone Cemetery, Four Mile Brook, with Rev. Barb Fotheringham officiating. Donations in her memory may be made Aberdeen Palliative Care.
