Mary (nee Miecznik) Payn

Mary Payn passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital, Kingston, Ont. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 at the age of 90.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Don Payn (1966); parents, (Joseph and Emily Miecznik); sister (Julia Jockemeck) and two loving grandchildren, Donnie (1990) and Shannon (2012). Mary is lovingly remembered by her son Don (Genny); daughters, Valerie (Jim) and Janice (Warren); six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mary was born and raised in Sydney. In 1963, she moved to Halifax and after retiring moved to Ottawa and then Kingston to be closer to family.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St.Mary’s Polish Church, 21 Wesley St., Sydney, N.S. on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at 1 p.m. followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the local Cape Breton Chapter of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
