Arthur "Zeke" Edmonds

EDMONDS, Arthur Murray “Zeke” - 87 of Nictaux passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in the Heart of the Valley Care Centre, Middleton. Born in Pine Grove, Lunenburg County, he was a son of the late Herman and Elva (Joudrey) Edmonds. Zeke worked for Thompsons Transfer for 41 years. He was a member for over 50 years of Sunbeam Lodge #64, Middleton and Valley Lodge #153 Lawrencetown. He was an avid camper, travelling all over Canada and the United States. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, curling and playing cards. He is survived by his wife, the former Wyona Saunders, Grand View Manor, Berwick; son Richard (Bonnie) Edmonds, Bridgewater; sisters, Hilda (Frank) Keddy, Ottawa; Elsie Whitman, Lawrencetown and Lillian Barkhouse, Windsor; brother, Walter (Olive) Edmonds, Edmonton, AB, grandchildren, Daniel, Timothy, Joseph and Rachel, and eight great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Pearl; brother, Lewis and an infant brother. Visitation was held Thursday, November 15, 2012 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. The funeral service was held Friday, November16, 2012 in the Nictaux Baptist Church, with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Interment in the Nictaux Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to Parkinson Society Maritime Region or Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Centre Recreation Department.
