Mrs. Lillian “Lil” Boothman (nee Hanson), age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 14, 2012. Born on October 23, 1929 in Expanse, Saskatchewan, she married James Boothman on February 25, 1950 at Zion United Church, and they were happily married for 50 years until Jim’s sudden passing on April 1, 2000. She and Jim both worked at the Dutch Bakery for over 25 years until they both retired in 1991. In her retirement, she actively enjoyed her Tuesday night bowling, socializing at the Cosmo Centre, and playing cards with her many friends at Heritage Place with Bridge and Canasta being her favourites. At home, she loved to knit, bake, watch the Game Show Network, and she was an avid sports enthusiast - especially when it came to curling and Rider games. Predeceased by her husband James, sister Mary Kruger, brothers-in-law Barrie Dowse, Robert Kruger, and Orville Nelson. She is survived by her three children: Dale Boothman of Saskatoon, Dave Boothman of Edmonton, and Shelley Turk of Moose Jaw; three grandchildren: Nicole “Niki” Turk of Moose Jaw, Brandi (Jesse) Zinter of Ponoka, and Brad Boothman of Saskatoon; one great-grandson Blake Zinter; brothers and sisters: John (Lorraine) Hanson, Jean Nelson, Carl (Doris) Hanson – all of Saskatoon, and Fern Dowse of Moose Jaw; as well as many other dear friends and relatives. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel; on Tuesday November 20, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Reverend Bob Langdon will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2, would be appreciated. In living memory of Lillian, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
