Orvel passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, November 9, 2012. Orvel will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 68 years, Olive and his sons Keith, Bob (Janet) and his daughters Linda, Liz (Rene). Orvel's grandchildren were always a great joy to him as he loved to hear of their adventures as they grew from loving children into the adults they are today - grandchildren David, Kelly (Greg), Alex (Samantha), Nick, Mark and Brad. Orvel was also blessed with a beautiful great granddaughter Sarah (2 ½).
Orvel, born in Innisfree, Alberta in 1921, was the 2nd oldest Dove boy with seven brothers and one sister. He leaves behind four brothers; Bill, Jim, Bob and Frank.
Orvel served as a pilot with the Royal Canadian Air Force in World War II joining when he was 17. He met Olive, who was with the W.A.F. of the R.A.F. while stationed in England. They married in Coventry on March 4, 1944.
Orvel was a patient, kind and loving man. He always saw the good in everyone and never had an unkind word to say. His career in the field of Human Resources took the family from Edmonton to Toronto and then Olive and Orvel to Penticton with their final stop in Kamloops and retirement from Weyerhaeuser.
Orvel was involved over the years with Kamloops United Church, Kamloops West Rotary, the RCAF Association, Blazers Booster Club and a proud member of the Guinea Pig Club. The Guinea Pig Club was formed of patients who underwent experimental reconstructive surgery during WWII generally after receiving burn injuries in an aircraft.

Your family misses you.
We know we were blessed to have you for so many years.
Love you.
