Anita (nee Delurey) Corcoran

Passed on: November 9th, 2012

(November 25, 1932 to November 9, 2012). Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, while surrounded by her family, Anita Corcoran, of Riverhead, S.M.B., in her 79th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Leo (April 2012); parents: Joseph & Laura Delurey; brothers: James and Dave; and sister Renie. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories; her four sons: Brian (Juanita), Tony (Trudy), Michael (Paula), Leo (Barb); nine daughters: Joyce (Kevin Williams), Leona (Wayne Harvey), Isabelle (Ivars), Madonna (Gary Barron), Gwen (Dave Dinn), Mary (Dave Clarke), Laura (Felicien Katigema), Clara (Tim Hagerty), Anne (Valentine Corcoran); thirty-four precious grandchildren: Laurie, Scott, Anita, Charmaine, Selena, Brian, Tiona, Blaize, Keith, Dale, Pamela, Adam, Lacey, Eric, Travis, Ashley, Carson, Cody, Lucas, Tyler, Leanna, Desmond, Sheena, Kyle, Leah, Eden, Chantal, Cassie, Bret, Alicia, Megan, Courtney, Emily, Lisa; sixteen great-grandchildren: two brothers: Joseph Delurey (Joan) and Harold Delurey (Anita);two sisters: Anna Keating and Mollie Abbott (Bill) and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Anita’s family wishes to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Chancellor Park for the care and attention mom received during her stay, and to the medical staff of 4 South A, Health Science Centre, for the excellent care and respect shown to her during her brief illness. Anita had been a respected member of the Community of Riverhead and was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62, Riverhead. Resting at Gibbons’ Funeral Home, St. Mary’s, on Monday, November 12 and Tuesday, November 13, from 2 - 4 p.m.; 7 - 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, November 14, 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, at 1 p.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, St. Mary’s. Burial to follow at St. Joseph the Worker Cemetery, Riverhead. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Parkinson Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
