Seemed like you had nine lives
You always pulled through
But your time ran out Dad
And we had to say goodbye to you.

We wish we could share
one more breakfast
Or one more cup of tea
Wish we could tell you once more
that we love you
But that was not to be.

It was time for you to leave us
And we wish that wasn't so
But we love you so much
We had to let you go.

But one day Dad we'll see you
As sure as the sun will rise
Then we can say hello
Instead of saying goodbye.
