Routledge, John Francis (Jack) - of 41 Deblyn Avenue, Hilden, passed away at age 65 on Friday November 16, 2012 at the Colchester Regional Hospital in Truro. He was born in Amherst on April 24, 1947 the son of the late Francis (Slim) and Inza (Simmons) Routledge; brother of Don (Verna) of Tidnish, NS, George (Shirley) of Renous, NB and Bill (Norma) of Tidnish, NS. Jack was a Beverage Manager for 13 years at several establishments including the Fore & After Lounge in the Heather Hotel, Stellarton. Upon retirement Jack had 33 years serving as a Financial Security Advisor for Prudential and London Life. During his extensive career he acquired a seat at the Million Dollar Round Table and was recognized by the Life Underwriters Association for his quality service. Jack was known by many to enjoy golfing, bowling and many other sports. He was a very generous person, volunteering for many charities and fundraisers over the years. Jack was actively involved in his faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was a loving husband to his wife Isabel (Hayman) of 38 years and a devoted father to his children, daughter Jill (Rick) Pineau of New Glasgow, NS, sons Josh (Heather) of Hamilton, ON, Chad (Jody) of Whitby ON, and daughter Jenny of Toronto ON.; a proud grandfather to Jude and Luke, Logan and Hunter, and a caring uncle to many nephews and nieces. Jack will be greatly missed by many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. Visitation will be held from 7 pm to 9 pm on Tuesday, November 20th with a memorial service at 1 pm on Wednesday, November 21st, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro.
