BURDITT, GEORGE DWIGHT - George Dwight Burditt went to be with his Lord and Saviour on November 19th, 2012 from the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born April of 1922, he was the son of the late Arthur and Lila (White) Burditt. George served as an active member of the Canadian Armed Forces from 1940-1945 during the Second World War. Following WW II he became an auditor with the Province of New Brunswick and later a retail auditor with Simpson Sears. He was employed for 35 years with the Federal Government. At the age of 65, George moved to Toronto and worked for the Ontario Government for 14 years; he retired at the age of 79 returning to Saint John. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. George is survived by his children Dwight Burditt (Angel Vautour) of Shediac, Kirby Burditt (Lucy) of Saint John and Margo Burditt of Jasper, AB; one grandson Bryn Burditt, sister Doris Hoar of Riverview; nieces, nephews, friends and close personal friend Valentina Audet-Beaumont of Toronto, ON. Besides his parents George was predeceased by his wife Mildred (Babkirk) Burditt; brother Albert and sisters Alice MacLean, Dr. Anna Mary Burditt and Charlotte Sutherland.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). By request there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at Fernhill Cemetery 200 Westmorland Road, on Friday November 23rd, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations in George's memory can be made to the Canadian Bible Society or the charity of the donor's choice. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
