It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Julia Mason on Nov. 25, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Dan A. and Christina (MacQuarrie) MacDonald.
In her earlier years Julia worked at Eaton’s order office and the Blue Store. She enjoyed bingo and baseball.
She is survived by son, Tommy ( Mary); sisters, Nora Hart, South Carolina, Jacqueline MacDonald, Ont; brother, Allan MacDonald, New Waterford; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was also predeceased by her husband, Clifford, sisters, Hughina MacDonald, Sr. Mary Bernita, Dolena Albanease, Mary Ross, brothers, Alex ‘Cage’ and Samuel.
Visitation will take place Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and a funeral service on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, in the Parish of Saint Leonard at 10 a.m. with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial in St., Michael’s Cemetery, followed by a luncheon in the parish hall, Convent Street. All are welcome.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
