RUGGLES, Richard - Passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Born in Bear River East on April 30, 1928 ,he was a son of the late Gordon Melville and Laura (Sulis) Ruggles. Dearly loved husband of Carol. Loved and cherished always by his sons, Peter and Eric (Lynne); grandchildren Sarah, Alexander and Julia; brother Walter (Regina) of Bear River; and sister Ruth (Bill Slattery) of Alabama. Richard was a long time employee of Ontario Hydro. An active member of St. Paul’s United Church, Dundas and a former member of the First United Church, Hamilton and a choir member for 60 years. He had an ongoing interest in woodworking and antique restoration which gave him many years of satisfaction. Funeral service was held on November 9, 2012 from St. Paul’s United Church, Dundas with burial in Grove Cemetery. Donations in memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
