MacCONNELL, Alan James - 42 of Yarmouth and formerly of Halifax, passed away in Yarmouth on November 26, 2012. Born September 18, 1970 in London, Ontario, he was a son of Harold William “Bill” MacConnell of Yarmouth and Florence Ester Woodhouse of Trail, BC. Alan had a great sense of humour and always inspired smiles from everyone who knew him. He also had a very kind and loving heart and a huge fondness for animals, especially dogs. Al enjoyed fishing and could spend hours at the lakes and streams and returned home happy even when he often came away empty-handed. He loved nature and enjoyed painting and sketching for which he had considerable talent. Besides his parents, Alan is survived by his brother, Mark of Vancouver, BC; very special cousin, Lois Harris, Yarmouth; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Violet and Donald Harris and paternal grandparents, Florence Littlefield and Harold MacConnell, Sr. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. There will be no visitation or memorial service at this time by family request. A graveside service will take place at a later date at Darling’s Lake Cemetery.
