The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, of Leslie David Phelan of Miscouche and formerly of Halifax, N.S., aged 68 years. Leslie was born on Nov. 11, 1944, in Halifax, N.S., to his late parents Joseph and Hilda (nee Kenny) Phelan. Beloved husband of Phyllis (nee Elms) Phelan and lovingfather of Duane Phelan of Edmonton, Alta., and stepson Paul Lischynski of Miscouche. Also lovingly remembered by his three grandchildren Joseph Phelan and Nichole and Nathalie Lischynski. Survived by his two brothers Kenneth (Isabel) of Sackville, N.B., and Claude of Hammonds Plains, N.S., and his sister Betty (Kenny) Edwards, also of Hammonds Plains, N.S. Besides his parents, Leslie was predeceased by his brother Patrick and sister-in-law Geri Phelan. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Tuesday, Dec. 4, then to People’s Cemetery, Summerside, for a committal service at 11 a.m. Visiting hours on Monday evening only, 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations in Leslie’s memory to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
