The sudden passing of Alberta Gertrude Gillis age 87, of Point Prim, beloved wife of 67 years of the late Lauchlin MacLeod Gillis occurred at her residence on Sunday, December 2, 2012.
Born in Orwell Cove, November 16,1925 she was a daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (Jenkins) Nicholson. Loving mother of Heather MacLeod, Brian (Barbara Ann) Gillis, Phyllis (Dan) Duncan, and Elaine (Malcolm) MacKenzie; cherished grandmother of Gwendolyn, Kevin, Julia Anne, Ellen, Matthew, Trevor, Adam, Kaela; and great-grandmother of Jaylin, Zachary, Lauchlin, Caleb and Alexa. Alberta was predeceased by grandson, Dean Duncan; sister, Annie Morrison; and brother, Irving Nicholson.
Resting at the St. John's Presbyterian Church, Belfast, from where the service will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. Visiting hours at the church on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment to take place in the Belfast Cemetery.
