ATWOOD, Evelyn Elizabeth "Shorty" – 82, of Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2012, at Yarmouth Regional Hospital, surrounded by her beloved children and grandchildren. Born April 7, 1930 in Yarmouth, by midwife, she was a daughter of the late Charlotte Knowles and Charles Gaudet. She was employed as a PCW for approximately 20 years at Villa St. Joseph du-Lac, where she enjoyed reminiscing at their 50th reunion. She will forever be remembered as the rock for her eleven children, family and friends. She enjoyed reading her bible daily, writing in her journal, crocheting, knitting and watching Joyce Meyers. She loved to watch her rose bushes bloom, her little birds visit and the kisses from Misty her puppy, but she especially loved special times with her children. She treasured her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the many family reunions. She will be forever missed by her daughters, Brenda, Yarmouth; Sheila, Shelburne; Elaine, Whitby, Ont.; Twila, Calgary, Alta.; Karen, Whitby, Ont.; sons, Lendal, Pleasant Valley; Lonney, Yarmouth; Blaine, South Ohio; Timothy, Pembroke; Brian, Vanderhoof, B.C.; Larry, Milton, Ont.; sister, Janet Sabean; brother, Tony Gaudet; cousin, Margaret LeBlanc; as well as her beloved 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Russell Atwood; brothers, Paul and Phillip Gaudet. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Thursday, December 6 from 7 until 9 pm in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service was held Friday, December 7 at 2 p.m. from Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Rev.
