On December 9, 2012 Fred passed away at Royal Inland Hospital at the age of 84 years,

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 62 years, Patricia; his children Neil (Gloria), Gail (David) Kipp, Tom, and Wanda Amos (Ken Robinson); grandchildren Kelly, Bob (Haruyo), Peter, Andrew, Kimberley, Alanna, Kandra, and Paul (Jen); brother Bob (Estelle); numerous special nieces and nephews; also his almost son Gerald (Sue) McWilliams, who brought Fred stories and samples of wildlife when he could no longer get out. Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and had numerous friends that took him out when his eyesight failed.

There will be no formal service, but a Memorial Tea will be held at the North Shore Community Centre, #452-730 Cottonwood Avenue at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2012.

As much as Fred loved his wife's beautiful garden and flowers, he would have preferred that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Diabetes Association, in his memory.
