WOOD, JOHN McKINNEY - July 14, 1930 – December 8, 2012 - It is with great sadness that the family of John Wood announces his passing at the age of 82 years. He will lovingly be remembered by his children, Linda (Jake) Donaldson, Carol Lisson, Cathy (Jim) Madden, Cindy (Francis) Harrison, John Jr. (Patricia) Wood; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Sylvia Peacock; two nieces; and numerous relatives and friends. John was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Dorothy. John was a dedicated ship builder, whose last major project was the Canadian Frigate Program. He served for 25 years in her majesty’s Canadian Forces Reserves, retiring as a Major with the 722 Communications Squadron, in Saint John, N.B. in 1975. John's passions were sailing, his beloved wife and his family.
At John’s request no formal service will be held. Cremation has already taken place. Donations in memory of John may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
