Gordon Agnar Dodd, aged 87 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2012. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday December 15, 2012 at 2:00 pm in Parkview Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bob Langdon officiating. Interment will follow in the Veteran’s Section at Rosedale Cemetery. Gordon was born on December 17, 1924 in Brandon, MB. After his return home as a soldier from WWII, he married Marion Neilly on October 11, 1947 in Brandon. In 1958, they moved from North Battleford to Moose Jaw where continued to reside until his passing. Gordon was employed as a provincial gas inspector by the Saskatchewan Government for 25 years. He was heavily involved with coaching hockey and baseball in Moose Jaw in the 1960’s and 70’s. Gordon is predeceased by his parents Rose and Harry Dodd and his wife Marion Dodd in 2002. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children: Beverly Montgomery (Roy), Kenneth Dodd, Joanne Dodd (Scott Gibson Dodd), and James Dodd (Claudette Durupt); his nine grandchildren: Kerry Skrudland, Kim Buckingham, Aric Dodd, Amy Dodd, Brad Dodd, Kendra Leier, Alison Borowko, Ben Dodd Nicholson, & Mitch Dodd Nicholson; and his eight great-grandchildren. Royal Canadian Legion associate rites will be conducted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #59. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, contributions to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund, 268 High St. W. Moose Jaw SK, S6H 1S8, would be appreciated by the family.
