Margaret "Cavell" Hecimovich

Margaret "Cavell" (nee Lowe) Hecimovich, 75, Dartmouth passed away suddenly December 12, 2012, in the Halifax Infirmary. Beloved wife of Lt. Cmdr. (rtd.) Joseph S. Hecimovich. Born June 14, 1937, to the late Clarence Lowe and Germaine Lowe MacNeil (MacLellan) in New Glasgow, NS. She was raised in Stellarton, NS, and at the age of 19 married her soul mate Joe and began their life together raising three children. Cavell spent her early years enjoying softball and speed skating as well as working for the Evening News in New Glasgow. Along with her husband they avidly followed the curling circuit and were long time members of the CFB Halifax Curling Club. Being a military wife she enjoyed being wife and mother at many locations throughout Canada. During retirement she spent many winters in Florida.
Cavell's life was her family. She enjoyed family and friends gathering for special occasions at the family home in Dartmouth and cottage in Malagash to enjoy a great meal and her knitting and crocheting was not far from her at any time. Her creations were cherished by all those who received them. The open house on New Year's Day and her one-of-a-kind seafood chowder and happy warm smiles will be sadly missed this holiday season and many many more to come. She was the life of the party and her laughter lit up the room.
