Ralph Hopper

HOPPER, RALPH - It is with great sadness that the family of Ralph Herman Hopper age 84 of Amherst announce his passing on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS. Besides his parents, Ralph was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Frances (Chapman) sisters Thelma Mills, Pauline Bridgeman, Constance Hamm and one brother Ray. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Walter and Florence (Tattrie) Hopper. Ralph was Parts Manager at Tantramar Motors in Amherst for over 40 years. He was one of the original members 154 Squadron of the Amherst Air Cadets and a member of the Amherst Marching Band. Ralph and Fran were members of Trinity-St. Stephens United Church, Amherst. They enjoyed their family time at Amherst Shore, suppers, dancing and card parties with their many friends. Ralph will be sadly missed by his two sons, Michael (Sheila) of Lorneville and Paul (Eileen) of Blair Lake, grandchildren Wesley (Lynn) of Toronto, ON, Nathan (Danya) of Bonnyville, AB, Eric (Megan) of Le Pas, MB, and Bradley (Allison) of Calgary, AB, two great grandchildren Payton and Blake both of Toronto, brother Bill (Gwen) of Amherst, his uncle Lloyd Tattrie of Tatamagouche and several nieces and nephews.
Ralph’s family will receive visitors at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St, Amherst (902-667-9906) on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Trinity-St. Stephen’s United Church, Amherst with Rev. Susan Estabrooks officiating. Interment will take place in the Amherst Cemetery. Memorial donations in Ralph’s memory may be made to the Cumberland Regional Health Care Foundation or charity of your choice.
