PAUL SENETCHKO

Born In: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Born: December 26th, 1946

Passed on: December 13th, 2012

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the sudden and untimely passing of Paul Senetchko, age 65, at his home on December 13, 2012.

Paul Joseph Senetchko was born in Edmonton, Alberta on December 26, 1946 to Michael and Anne Senetchko, the eldest son of five children. As a child he resided on the family farm in the Calmar district until, at the age of eighteen, he joined the K-Mart Company. It was with K-Mart that he was progressively transferred to stores in B.C., Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba. In 1971 in Brandon, MB he met his future wife Ruth, and after several transfers they settled in Kamloops, B.C. for 33 years. Earlier this year they sold their home to move to Kelowna to assume a retirement life.

Paul was avid about camping and enjoyed the RV lifestyle for many years. His camping trips took him annually to the Rocky Mountains where he experienced great peace and tranquility. He loved travelling the Oregon Coast and revelling in the beauty of nature. Dogs were an important part of Paul's life right from boyhood. He could not be without "man's best friend". Paul had an innate ability to relate to people everywhere. He never hesitated to start a conversation or engage with others, whether in his workplace, neighbourhood or on camping trips. Just as readily he was there to assist and advise others. Paul participated in sports for most of his life and recently he was hoping to resume golfing.

One of Paul's core values was family. He maintained long-distance relationships with his brother and three sisters: Clarence (Corinne), MarieAnne Petryga (Dan), Doreen Brown (Doug), Rosalie Tkachuk (Marvin). He is survived by his step-son Tim Dueck, numerous nieces and nephews, and the Zacharias family.

He was predeceased by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The Funeral Service will held on Friday, December 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Hainstock's Funeral Chapel at 9810- 34th Ave, Edmonton, AB. Interment will take place at the Ukrainian Catholic Holy Trinity Church, Leduc, AB.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.valleyviewfuneralhome.com.
