It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Annette Bonnell-Marshall on Dec. 18, 2012 at the Cove Guest Home, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (Renaud) Dubois.
Annette was employed by the University College of Cape Breton as co-director of the Electronic Learning Centre. After her retirement in 1988, she kept close ties to the college and was a member of the university faculty alumni. She was well known and loved by faculty and students alike.
Annette was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her caring nature and capacity to reach out to others made her a much adored member of her community.
Annette is survived by her loving husband, Ross Marshall; daughters, Linda Ouellet, Barrie, Gail Bonnell, Sydney; sons, Larry (Sheila) Bonnell, Oshawa, Wally and Michael (Diane) Bonnell, Scarborough, Tim (Michelle) Bonnell, Sydney and two stepsons, Paul (Tina) and Eric Marshall, Toronto; 10 grandchildren, Rene and Nicole, Annette, Lawrence and Creig, Christine and Carrie Ann, Tim, Nicholas and Travis; numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Maurice (Marg) Dubois, London and one sister, Margaret (Joe) Egardo, California.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Francis Bonnell; son, Raymond; daughter, Franklyn Edwards and three brothers, Peter, Louis and Edward Dubois and sister, Tenia Phillippo.
Visitation will be held today (Friday) Dec. 21, 2012 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Thomas Whent officiating.
Donations may be made to the Diabetes Society, in lieu of flowers.
