Rose St-Amand

ST-AMAND, ROSE - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Rose Marie St-Amand on December 19th, 2012 at the Falls Villa (Grand Falls Manor). Born in 1919, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Sophie Desjardins. Rose was proud of her family and devoted her life to her three sons and their families. She always made sure that they were well-stocked with fresh strawberry preserves, home-made doughnuts and her legendary fudge. She was a past member of the N.B. Craft Council notably for her mohair sweaters and berets. A commercially successful crafter, Rose won numerous awards for the quality of her products and traveled regularly to attend fairs selling hand-sewn quilts, knitted socks, mittens and slippers and crocheted necklaces and rosaries. The family wishes to thank all of those involved in caring for Rose over the past several years. Besides her parents, Rose was predeceased by her son, Gerald, her sisters, Jeanne and Irene and her brothers, Elie, Alfred and Leo. She is survived by her sons, Rio (Sylvia), Saint John; Gilles (Juliette), Petit-Rocher; daughter-in-law, Marie, Rothesay; granddaughters, Tina (Dan Vallis), Saint John; Jeannine (Peter Powell), Fredericton; Diane (Andre Hubert), Moncton; Monique (Trevor Brooks), Saint John and great grandchildren; Paige, Michael, Willem and Samuel.
