It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Henry Florian ‘Lollie’ LeBlanc of Sydney on Dec. 22, 2012, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late Charles and Catherine (Donovan) LeBlanc.
Florian was a well-known business man in Whitney Pier. For many years he owned and operated LeBlanc Printing and was later employed with Barrington & Vokey. Florian enjoyed playing a good game of tarabish as well as watching various sporting events. He was an avid reader and loved music of all kinds. Many happy memories were made during the summers with his family and friends at his bungalow in Northside East Bay.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rose (Gillis); daughters, Marion (Seldon) MacKenzie, Port Hawkesbury, Ruth (Dennis) Shea, Glenda (Raymond) Martin, Lydia (Brian) Fraser, all of Sydney; son, Paul (Brenda), North Sydney; sister, Mary MacDonald, Sydney; brothers, Urban, California, and John (Frances), Sydney; grandchildren, Melissa, Chris, Jason, Erin, Patrick, Maureen, Meaghan, Justin, Rachael, Katie, Emily, Matthew and David; great-grandchildren, Oliver and Felicity. He is also survived by good friend and brother-in-law, Charlie Barrington, Northside East Bay; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Charles and Julian, sisters, Theresa Barrington, Joan Chisholm and Sr. Catherine LeBlanc.
Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26 at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 at Holy Redeemer Church, Whitney Pier, Rev. Paul Murphy will officiate. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment in the reception room at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel.
