Peacefully at Stewart Memorial Hospital, Tyne Valley, on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, of Olive Blanche Grant of Ellerslie, aged 89. Blanche was born in Poplar Grove on Sept. 14, 1923, daughter of the late Russell and Ella (Adams) Wagner. Dear mother to Phyllis (Ellis) Lidstone, St. Catharines, Ont., and Harold (Diane) Oatway, Ellerslie. Loving grandmother to 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mother-in-law to Karen Oatway, Summerside. Sister-in-law to Lillian Wagner, Conway; Dorothy Wagner, Brantford, Ont.; Ethel (Hubert) Hutchinson; Annie Kadey; Margaret Hutchinson; Edith (Bev) Hanson; Sterling (Sadie) Oatway; Nellie (John) Ramsay; Douglas (Arlene) Oatway and Betty Oatway. Olive is also survived by her thoughtful and caring friends Peggy and Morgan Ellsworth. She was predeceased by her parents, first husband Lawson Oatway (1981), second husband Henry Grant (2003), sons James, Gary (Joan), brothers and sisters James, Lucy MacArthur, Keith, Ken, Leaman, Jack and Pearl Smith. Resting at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours Thursday, Dec. 27, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Friday, Dece. 28, at St. John's Anglican Church, Ellerslie, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery. In memory of Olive, memorials to the St. John's Anglican Church would be appreciated.
