Mary Schick, loved by Christ Jesus and her family, passed away into Jesus’ arms on December 21, 2012 at the age of 100 years 7 months. Mary is survived by daughter Rose (Jim) Schuelke, daughter-in-law Brenda Schick, 6 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her husband Godfrey Schick, sons Harold and Fred, daughters-in-law Irene and Lena, and three grandchildren, Linda, Tim, and Geofrey. Mary lived all but 3 years of her life in Bayard and Moose Jaw, SK. She worked hard as a farm wife—milking cows, feeding livestock, gardening, planting flowers, sewing, cooking and canning. Over the years she boarded several school teachers in the Bayard farm home. Mary especially loved entertaining guests who could count on great home cooking. Mary was regular in worship and active in the ladies group at Peace Lutheran Church, Spring Valley. From 1976 to her death she was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Moose Jaw. A Service of Thanksgiving for God’s presence in Mary’s life will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran, 15 Paul Drive, Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Reverend John Kreutzwieser and Reverend James Schuelke officiating.
