Leslie B. Aker, 88, of Ellershouse, Hants County, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 20, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on February 11, 1924, in Ellershouse, he was the son of the late John Warden and Ida Mabel (Wile) Aker. Leslie worked for 39 years for the Nova Scotia Power Corporation before retiring. He looked forward to going to Tim Horton’s every morning to have coffee and share stories with his friends. Leslie was very proud of his family and his family were just as proud of him. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Muriel E. Pearl; daughter, Dale (Dave) Perrin, Woodville Road; sons, Don (Debbie), Port George, Avery (Debbie), Windsor; grandchildren, Jackie Allison, David Perrin, Lauren Aker, Caitlin Aker, Amanda & Melissa Aker; great-grandchildren, Keirsten Campbell, Tanner Campbell, MacKenna Allison, Westen Perrin, Delila Perrin and Siyah Saad; brother, Russell Aker, Dartmouth. Besides his parents, Leslie was predeceased by an infant son, Maurice Aker; step-mother, Nora Aker; sister-in-law, Pearl Aker. Funeral service was 7 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, 194 King Street, Windsor. The Rev. Bill Gibson officiated, followed by visitation until 9 p.m. A private family committal service was held 11 a.m. Monday, December 24, 2012, in the Ste. Croix Cemetery, Cemetery Road, St. Croix, Hants County. Donations in memory of Leslie were requested to be made to the Palliative Care Program at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor or any charity.
