It is with sadness that we the family announce the peaceful passing of William MacIntyre on Dec. 27, 2012, in the An-Cala/Palliative Care unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Gabarus, he was the son of the late John and Agnes (MacLellan) MacIntyre.
Willie resided in Ontario for many years where he was a tractor tailor driver, then returned home where he was a school bus driver and woodsman.
William is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Lynn (Compton) MacIntyre; daughter, Kimberly MacIntyre, Vancouver, B.C.; sisters, Mary (Robert) Eisen, Theresa (Gerald) Miller, both of Sydney; brothers, James MacIntyre, London, Ont.; sister-in-law, Charlotte MacIntyre, Gabarus; as well as many nieces and nephews and friends. Willie also leaves behind his best friend of 50 years Joe (Joan) MacLean, P.E.I.
Besides his parents, William was predeceased by brothers, Dan Archie and John, sister Emma MacIntyre, and sister-in-law, Betty MacIntyre.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held Saturday Dec. 29, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with Fr. Paul McGillvray officiating, with a reception to follow. Interment will take place at a later date.
