It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden death of Brenda Popovich at St. Theresa’s Hospital in Fort Vermilion, Alta., on Dec. 27, 2012.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of Michael and Violet (Boutilier) Popovich.
Brenda worked in the health care field in both Moncton, N.B. and La Crete, Alta. She graduated from University of St. John with her OR tech certification and as an LPN. Brenda was very compassionate and devoted to her profession, especially when it came to seniors.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her devoted companion, Bryan Holden; brother, Greg (Karen), North Sydney; sisters, Anita (Brian), North Sydney, Darlene, Sydney Mines, Michelle (John Wayne), Sydney and Ann, Halifax, also survived by a number or nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation for the late Brenda Popovich will be held in the J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of her life will take place Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Vern Boutilier officiating, with a reception to follow in the parish hall.
