In her 90th year, with her family at her side, Annie ‘Sis’ slipped peacefully into the arms of our Lord, on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre, Guelph, Ont.
Annie was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Stella LeClair, her husband Roddie (1966), two infant children, Mary Eileen and David Bruce, her sisters, Lillian (Eric Campbell) and Leona (the late Edwin Cameron).
She is survived by her three children in Ontario, John of Ottawa, Paul of Ayr and Janice (Rob) of Guelph; her sisters, Carmella (the late Matthew McIntyre) of Ottawa, Mary Margaret (Donald Ferguson) of Glace Bay, Carol (Wayne Morris) of Kingston, N.S.; her brother, John LeClair (Patricia) of Calgary, Alta. and by her grandchildren, Alysia, Ryan, Jennifer, Michael, Kristen, Brandon, Courtney and Katie. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Annie was a faithful woman who will be remembered for her steadfast love of and devotion to her family. She had a tireless work ethic and started her work career as a payroll clerk at the Dominion Coal Company in Glace Bay followed by over 30 years of employment at the Dominion Medical Clinic with Dr. J.B. Tompkins. She lived a simple life which was rich with kindness and she was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glace Bay, until relocating to Ontario in 2003 to be closer to her children. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
Cremation will be taking place. No visitation. A memorial mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, Guelph, Ont. at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013. A funeral mass and interment will be arranged by family in the summer of 2013 in Glace Bay.
Donations in memory of Annie may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
