SISSON, RAYMOND WESLEY - 1920 - 2012 - Surrounded by family, Raymond passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Saint John, NB on December 24, 2012. Raymond was the eldest son of Guy and Myrtle (Witherly) Sisson, born on July 10, 1920. He grew up in Wapske, St. Almo and Arthurette, New Brunswick. Raymond lived his adult life in Arthurette with a view of the Tobique River and a trout pond in his backyard. An entrepreneur from day one, Raymond was the owner/driver of "The Store at Your Door" as well as a grocery store in Arthurette, NB. He worked for Loomis Courier and was a rural Mail carrier. Widely respected, he was known for his honesty, great work ethic and his faith in God and mankind. He is survived by his children, Myrna DeMerchant, Saint John, NB; Robert (Lynda), Vineland, ON; Terry, Arthurette, NB; Rhonda Locsin, Renforth, NB; and Gina Topolniski (Kevin), Edmundston, NB. He is also survived by his brother, Vernon (Taeko) of Hamilton, ON. He leaves behind ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren, his daughter-in-law, Brenda Sisson, Fredericton, NB and the mother of his children, Lorna Gallop. As a devout Christian, he will be welcomed into heaven by his sisters Geneva and Lottie. Raymond had many sayings, "I know more dead people than live ones", "My forgetter is working real good", and "See you later, if not, I'll see you in Heaven" were some that come to mind. His favourite Bible quote came from the King James Version, The Gospel according to St. John, Chapter 14. "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." Raymond would not want anyone to grieve, he has simply gone home.
Funeral Service was held at the United Baptist Church in Plaster Rock on December 29, 2012. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of White's Funeral Home, Perth-Andover. Raymond was laid to rest in the Arthurette United Baptist Cemetery.
