Margaret (Stevenson) Currie

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our precious mother, Margaret Reid Cheyne (Stevenson) Currie, Glace Bay on Jan. 1, 2013.
Besides her parents, Margaret and Robert Stevenson, of New Aberdeen, Margaret was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1992.
She leaves with cherished memories her children, Wayne (Amelia), Halifax, Bobby (Francine), Brossard, Que., Beverly, Toronto, Peter (Sue), Kentville, Peggy (Willie McInnis), Dominion, Kathy, Edmonton, Debbie (Jackie Butts), Glace Bay, Denise (Tim Huttemann), Nelson, B.C., Daryl (Illeana), Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, David (Shawna), Slave Lake, Alta., and Paul (Lori) Halifax; 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by her brother, Bobby (Sylvia) Stevenson, Newfoundland; sister-in-law, Rose Stevenson, Glace Bay; brother-in-law, George Gramada, Georgetown; sister-in-law, Lalie Head, Glace Bay and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by her brother, Freddy Stevenson; sisters, Olive (Arnold MacLeod), Molly (Junior Traboulsee) and Helen Gramada; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Allie and Dot Currie, Glace Bay, Dannie and Georgie Currie, Hamilton, Kay and Gussie Wadden, Glace Bay, Lutsie and Len Shaw, Glace Bay and Tom Head, Glace Bay.
Her goal in life was to provide a warm, nurturing and loving home for her family. She loved the outdoors, gardening, sharing campfires with family in Ben Eoin, and exploring Cape Breton with her daughter Peggy. She loved to read and had a keen interest in politics and current events.
We were truly blessed to have a mother who was always loving, kind, thoughtful and supportive. She is very much loved and will be forever missed. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Cremation has taken place. Burial service at a later date.
