Roberta Edesse Potter - 71, of Centreville, Kings County, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at home. Born in Annapolis Royal, she was a daughter of Lilah (Beeler) Woodland, Centreville and the late Robert Woodland. She cared for children and operated a day care in her home for many years. She enjoyed knitting and reading. In addition to her mother, she is survived by three daughters, Becky (Val) Herson-Petersen, Prince Edward Island; Sheryl Potter, Kentville and Sandra (Tom) Herson-Petersen, Kempt Shore; two sons, Rodney (Faye), South Alton, Kings County and Andrew, Coldbrook; 10 grandchildren, Seth, Amber, Jeremiah, Jacob, Cassie, Carrie, Deirdre, Josh, Drew and Emily; four great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Wayne Potter; an infant brother, Larry; a brother, Frederick. Cremation has taken place and there was no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2013 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Marc Potvin officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Oakhill Cemetery, Annapolis Royal. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Cancer Society.
